I've known Katie for most of my life. We grew up in Flowery Branch, Georgia together and hadn't seen each other in over a decade. She reached out to us, not even knowing that I was a part of Second Sun. Turning this shoot into a reunion with an old friend was so much fun for us. Reminiscing about childhood and catching up on everything since.

Starting our afternoon at Rollins College (shout out Mr. Rogers), we quickly found ourselves crawling through bushes, cutting across dorm patios, and falling in love with the architecture of the grounds.

Afterwards, we all made our way to Kraft Azalea Garden. Unbeknownst to us, 26 other couples (photographers in tow) had the same idea. We had to get creative with angles and framing and actively trying to not be in the backgrounds of anyone else's photos. It was overcast most of the afternoon but we had about three minutes of sunset and all rushed to the water's edge. We positioned Katie + Chris and crawled into a tree to get pictures with the last seconds of light.

Reuniting with an old friend and seeing how well her fiancé loves her is one of the best things I've been able to do as a photographer. They're a beautiful couple and we really had the best afternoon with them.
